End game?

We've managed to wipe out House Capulet, but the game didn't end.

We take it to mean that the last surviving member of the Watch, Sapphire, may in fact count as a House and so has to die too.

If you're reading this as the first post, that means the game ended before I could write something else.

Start from the bottom and read your way up!

Apology to Squidworth

Hi Squid,

I wanted to personally apologise if I upset or seemed mean to you.

There is some things that I need to explain but I am worried if I say it to you it will appear in the thread or somehow get back to our enemies.

I am the montague lord. Everything in quote blocks was written by me, with a few exceptions that were written by Black Kitty. Nobody outside of the house officially knows this except Sarck, who is the paranoid. Anybody - especially THG - who comes up to you and says about it must not be told because we are pretending that Suike is the lord now so that she won't be hit. Nobody knows - if THG says to you "I am told that Sky is the lord" please deny all knowledge of who the lord is.

You did a great job in the game. I'm really sad that you were hit because the same night you were hit, I was hit too.

In hindsight I should have given you more information and access to the blog so that you could have done a better job at impersonating me. Having you stand out like this was a big risk, but because of it, you DID save the game for us. We know now that Capulet's strategy was to hit everybody in the house once - they wanted to hit Eyolo and Madogu before you because they knew they were the detective/medic.

However because they hit you before Madogu, it meant that Madogu was still alive to use his medic powers to save our sleeper, who WAS hit two nights ago. If we had lost our sleeper then, it would be a Capulet victory now.

So when the game is done I will explain all that you did for us to Robod-cat, so he will know that you brought about a Montague victory, and then he can be impressed and apologise for berating you.

After the game is done I will share the blog with everyone and answer every question that you want to know.

I am sorry that you died, and I am sorry if I hurt your feelings. I've been worried sick about how to get the house to the end when the Watch, Citizens and Capulet were allied against us. It's been a very rough road and there is a hell of a lot going down behind the scenes that if it was even HINTED about would have spelled death for the rest of the house.

However you proved yourself in this game. I hope that in future we are on the same side again. With your work, we will have a Montague victory before Wednesday.

Take care, be well, and safe.

Fire is out of control~

I have written to Aarin requesting he cancel the ‘This Fire Is Burning’ condition however he is insistent that it goes through.

Additional factors are that Mercutio’s death does NOT terminate the This Fire Is Burning condition, and ANYBODY is a potential target. Only medic protection will save you, not bodyguards, not lives, and it can hit anybody (including the Unaffiliated players).

Henceforth we need to end the game as quickly as possible. That demands we annihilate House Capulet.

Here’s the enemy intel:

Midnyt – Detective

Major_pain - ???

Shazback - ??? and also afk, kill second to last

NeoNostalgia – Capulet Bodyguard, kill last

DJROC - ???

Keglaneq – Capulet Veteran

The only roles we don’t know are who is the sleeper, and who is the medic.

If we lynch major_pain and he is the medic, we hit DJROC. If we lynch major_pain and he is the sleeper, we hit DJROC. In other words, we have to lynch major_pain and then have our sleeper hit DJROC.

There is a chance I will be killed tonight, so this is the order I want you to kill/lynch things in case I am dead and am unable to talk:

Major_pain (lynch) (today)

DJROC (hit) (tonight)

1337guard (lynch) (tomorrow)

Midnyt (hit) (tomorrow night)

Keglaneq (lynch)

Shazback (hit)

NeoNostalgia (lynch)

GG Montague.

If we lose our sleeper to Cat’s Fall we will have to be creative. If we lose Spada, I want Madogu to cover Suike since she is at most risk from a direct hit.

We only have a one person advantage over Capulet. Only one of them are afk for sure (Shazback) but DJROC and Keglaneq have never voted. As it stands Capulet have a vote power of 3, and they will surely get 1337guard voting with them so they will have 4. BBC is currently afk so we have a vote block of 5 but we will all need to vote in case an Unaffiliated (Sapphire) votes with them.

It is likely that Suike’s cover is now totally blown as there is only one legitimate Capulet townie left, and she is claiming to be it. Montague, the only way we can save her is if we take down the sleeper before they put their hit on her. We have to all vote to lynch major_pain asap, and Spada, you have to put your kill in for DJROC as soon as the time ticks over.

EXCEPTION – if major_pain is their sleeper, I want you to hit 1337guard instead. No sense leaving a loaded gun sitting around.

Cat’s Fall hurts us more than Capulets because we have more members and therefore are more likely to be hit. However we have better intel than our enemy, largely due to the crazy risks that Suike has taken, the patience that Eyolo has had in putting up with all these detective checks, the initiative that Jordan used to find cell East, Spada’s continued tolerance of me switching kill targets every thirty seconds, and the honesty of Jun and Gasp. Even Squidworth proved useful to us in the end, and BBC’s proactive contacting of me gave us an extra vote when we needed it most. I am sad that Kemindul died, because he was a resourceful and helpful player, and I promised that we would avenge him. I promised Santakuroosa, too – and once 1337guard is down, that promise will be fulfilled. In the end it was Zaxser’s little suicide stunt at the beginning that helped unit our family; he doesn’t know it yet but I will let him know after the game that even his demise was not in vain.

Every player who ever lied to Black Kitty died. You all told the truth to me, and because of it, we have a united group, our family is assembled, we know who our enemies are, and they do not know us.

I also want to place an extra special to Black Kitty who has remained neutral throughout this game and tolerated my continued attempts to get information out of her without snapping and auto-lynching me >.>

No matter else what happens, I am thankful that we have a good team. Cat’s Fall may change the outcome of the game, but I will know that at this point we would have won and damn it, we still will.

Please put in your votes for major_pain. Do not ninja vote – put your names up as fast as you can so that the enemy is dispirited and won’t resist. Let’s end this war.

Letter to the enemy~

Hi 1337, I've been asked to pass this message on to you.

[blockquote]

1337guard,

We were informed today by Midnyt that you are Mercutio, and then House Capulet requested that we use our sleeper to hit you.

Obviously we have no intention of doing this because it will give Capulet one free night of killing Montagues, and we have to question as to why they would supply us your name and then not make such an attack themselves.

Additionally, we already scheduled our attack for a different target. Even if we switched to you, it would be too late to prevent you from making a hit.

Montague had narrowed Mercutio down to either yourself, Keglaneq, Shazback or DJROC. After asking all of these players to vote for Zero_Kanipan, none of them actually did it so we were no closer to identifying you.

We're pretty sure nobody is going to hit you tonight so you've got one free night to smash something before both houses go 'zomg, nobody hit Mercutio!??' and regretfully lynch you.

It just so happens we know a number of House Capulet members, and thought you'd like the opportunity to hit something of value.

We're certain that Capulet has their medic protecting their sleeper. Unfortunately we don't know who the medic or the sleeper is yet. However, that means their medic isn't on, say, their detective Midnyt, or any of the other quiet members.

Shazback is apparently afk, so he's no good for you. But you could really cause some trouble by hitting Keglaneq, who has been super quiet this game and never voted, or major_pain who has been extra loud and first put us on to hitting Kaiba.

We'd like to say that we have some good offer for you or that this is a way for you to extend your game time past tomorrow's lynch, but that would be a lie (unless Aarin has given you special powers~). So we are blatantly asking you to hit something from Capulet under the motivation of revenge, since if it wasn't for Capulet tellin us who you were, we were at least three nights away from it.

Regardless, you've led us a merry chase, and you've killed an awful lot of House members. It would be a shame if you happened to hit a player who was a veteran, protected by a medic or bodyguard, or was the paranoid, and wasted your last hit. I assure you that none of the players I have mentioned here are covered by a medic or are the paranoid, but I can't vouch for certain about the veteran. It just so happens that Montague still has it's veteran, the paranoid voting in our bloc, our bodyguard and our medic, so if you want to make a kill, your best chance is against Capulet.

Lastly, if you're not Mercutio, that means Capulet has sold us a bridge, and you should be freaking out as to why Midnyt sold you out to the Montague's.

Thank you for playing - we hope to see you in the next game, hopefully on the same team this time.
[/blockquote]

Night 8

Welcome, House Montague.

We had all of the players who said they were from House Montague voting for ChaoticAtomBomb so we had our detective run a 'How Many Montagues are voting for ChaoticAtomBomb' check and it turned up 9, which cooincidentally, was exactly how many people voting for CAB were suspected Montagues.

Have a quick read of this list so you know who is who and whom you can talk to.

For now it's best if we avoid contacting our enemy and revealing any information.

3. Gasp! Its Jake - Montague Townie
4. Sapphire - Watch Friar
5. Black Kitty - Count Paris
7. Sarck - Paranoid
12. major_pain - Capulet unknown
15. Sky_Paladin - Montague Lord
22. 1337guard - Citizen Mercutio
23. DNA.Styx - Daniel
25. SpadaDellaSelva - Montague Sleeper
26. Eyolo - Montague Detective
27. Madogu Abuser - Montague Paramedic
29. NeoNostalgia - Capulet Bodyguard
34. Midnyt - Capulet Detective
35. BBC - Montague Veteran
36. DJROC - Capulet Unknown
40. Kegluneq - Capulet Unknown
43. Suike - Montague Vigilante
44. Shazback - Capulet unknown
45. Sagi - Capulet unknown
49. Jun - Montague Townie

We are currently hitting Sagi, and we believe Capulet are hitting us but we have no idea whom the target is. Following their hit pattern (TheThirdRider, Kemindul, Sky_Paladin, Squidworth, Spada, Jeffu) the next likely targets are BBC, Eyolo or Madogu. Our enemies have not double hit or hit the same player twice so far, they are obviously searching for our medic, and with good reason - he's saved two hits already.

After we lynch 1337guard tomorrow, the game basically boils down to who kills the enemy sleeper first. We have to assume Capulet are not idiots and have their medic covering their sleeper, we are doing the same. So we are going to whack the surviving Capulets one at a time and see what falls out. We are going to leave Midnyt because we know he is not the Medic or the sleeper. If we find a target that absorbs a hit and doesn't die, it's either their vet or the medic protected target - lynch the target that took the hit. Ideally we want to kill Capulets that are active and vote; this gives us greater power to win the lynch without having to ask our Unaffiliated players to help.

So, here's a hit order:

45. Sagi - Capulet unknown

Sagi is up first. Sagi has been voting occasionally.

12. major_pain - Capulet unknown

Major_pain has been regularly voting. The reason we hit Sagi first is because we have a spy in the enemy midst and we want to see what major_pain and Midnyt say to each other tomorrow, hopefully to give our spy good intel on our primary target.

40. Kegluneq - Capulet Unknown

Keg has never voted. He was suspected to be a Citizen right up until Capulets told us 1337guard was Mercutio. He never went afk, which means he's been doing something every night...

36. DJROC - Capulet Unknown

By now we should have found either the medic or the sleeper because we know the roles of two of the remaining Capulets, if we didn't find the medic yet it has to be Shazback.

34. Midnyt - Capulet Detective

Midnyt's detective skills ceased to be useful once they identified 1337guard. Both houses should have a complete list of their enemy by now, although Capulets probably do not know who the paranoid or the last member of the Watch is.

44. Shazback - Capulet unknown

Shazback is apparently going afk for the rest of the game so he won't be voting. He is therefore not a threat and can be left til the end.

29. NeoNostalgia - Capulet Bodyguard

It probably won't get to this point, but the last Capulet to die must be NeoNostalgia. Until then, we don't touch him. He is harmless to us, and occasionally voted, but if he dies then Black Kitty is open to being hit and killed.

I promised her that she would live to the end of the game, and I intend to honor that promise.

And another letter to the King.

((This guy never writes back. He is the worst kind of pen friend ever. He made a big promise 'zomg orders tomorrow' and now it is just silence. It's really heartbreaking. Am I destined never to know true love?
To His Imperial Highness, your humble and loyal servant wishes fair tidings, safe passage, and good health.

This vessel begs forgiveness for the abruptness in which the preceding communication ended. Surely, ‘twas the stroke of providence and miracle that even that scrap of paper was dispatched to thee. Upon the midnight hour, as I was but quietly crafting my words to He who is Most Glorious, as you know from previous events, I was beset upon by a vandal! No sooner had the villain broken through the door and drawn steel against me, than my valiant son Luke interceded on my behalf. They fought neck and toe for scarcely a minute, before the cowardly assassin leaped headlong out the chamber window and vanished into the night. That wretch knew he was against a far better man in both spirit, skill and faith and fled before the justice he so wickedly deserved. I had just yet stood and thanked my son, whereupon we heard a woman’s choked off scream - alas and alack! The vagabond had, thusly been denied of his preferred kill, contented himself with the first poor woman who stood in his path. My lovely Stephanie now joins the many dead in Verona. As I said before; now is not the time for tears, but my patience and faith are sorely tested.

Not all evil went without justice ere the sun went down. This morning I found the remnants of the traitor Felice, known conspirator against our Prince, riddled with arrows. The Count’s man, Leo, claimed to have struck at her during the night as she went about her way, spreading disease, filth and lies, and her unholy countenance did prevent him for placing the final blow, nobleman that he is. But he placed his mark upon her, and thusly, the village folk granted her a fitting end for all traitors – a shameful, insignificant death, full of fear and suffering.

My steward and advisor Benvolio has continued on the path of our adversaries, retracing the final steps of our noble Prince, and gathered the names of yet more of the conspirators. We know them only by their false names – “Zero_Kanipan” and “Umhyuk” – but rest assured, this day or the next, they too will meet Felice’s fate. For ‘Uhmyuk’ I intend to grant him the same blessing that Wolf the Quarrelsome, ancient Irish warmaster, did give to Brodir whom had slain his elder brother. From Njall’s Saga, “Wolf the Quarrelsome cut open Brodir’s belly, and led him round and round the trunk of a tree, and so wound up all his entrails out of him, and he did not die before they were all drawn out of him.” Fascinating reading, Njall’s Saga. I do recommend it to you, Sire.

I have learned that the Capulet rats still wish to cross steel with us. One of their number, “LOL Patrol” was discovered inciting a mob today…though they worked with us this day, I saw their thieving, conniving looks at the wealthy Montague ladies and officers. They have a sell-sword, Marco, and he does not work for the Count – and I do wonder if this was the beast that murdered poor, helpless Stephanie the previous night. Should we find this…mercenary…we shall give his whereabouts to the Count’s man, Leo, and see what comes of it.

There is one more encounter that I must speak of because I do not know what to make of it.

As the cock-crowed the first rays of the sun kissing this troubled earth, faithful Luke brought a man in brown, tattered garb before me. This stranger pulled back his hood and I recognised him at once – it was Alfredo, the quiet Monk, whom had never spoken a word in all the years I had known him. This quiet, harmless creature had given a vow of silence and poverty, his bare feet torn and hardened from uneven cobblestones, his tired eyes weary from an eternity of reading the good book. As I stood, to my astonishment – he spoke. His voice was quiet and soft, like the evening breeze through the willows that line the east aisle of your courtyard, and his words carried the weight of an eternity of wisdom.

“Evil triumphs when good men do nothing,” he said in his old, wavering voice. He lifted his tired, work-weary arms and pointed at me. “You are charged by God to finish the commission that has been set before you.” Whereupon he took out a small, tattered scroll, and placed it before me. I recognised it at once – it was the list of traitors who had conspired against the Prince. Alfredo placed his finger on the name ‘Sapphire’. “I drew here,” Alfredo announced, and I recoiled in horror as he continued, “For they came for me with sword and fire. They torched the Bible in front of me and held my brothers lives to ransom.” I am poorly schooled in the knowledge of God, so my response was perhaps poor. I asked him how he could sign away the life of the Prince for his own brothers, when good men – my men – fought and died on these broken, hopeless streets against the evil that had condemned our guardian. I had a terrible anger, my lord, and I would have put him to the sword then and there except – I cannot harm a man of the cloth. Poor, misguided, broken Alfredo – he is God’s man. I should sooner fall on my own blade than choose to slay him.

Alfredo replied to me. It was not fear of his own life that made him draw, but fear for the souls of the town. He said that many years of silence had given him great wisdom and introspection. He knew that the Prince could not be saved by force of arms, no matter my families courage or will. He said – forgive this blasphemy, I am only passing on his treasonous words – that Prince Escalus’ death was ‘fated’. That our town, fair Verona, was meant to be plunged in to turmoil so that God could watch our mettle and faith in the greatest test of all. I asked of him, if it be fate, then why sign your name, friar? He said that all men have sins, and it is the nature of man to sin and be forgiven, then sin again, in an endless cycle until their death. Prince Escalus was a paragon above all men, and had gone to confession only an hour before hand. The Friar told me that at that moment, Escalus was pure and clean. Alfredo…cared not for our day to day affairs. “Our Prince,” he told me, “Is now giving advice to Christ, preparing His armaments, and doing battle with a far greater enemy than you or I can ever face. Our time with this great man must end so that he can be where he is needed.” Alfredo made the sign of the cross, bowed, and moved to leave. Then he turned to me once more and said, “Your place is still here. Finish what you have begun. Do everything within your power to be the best that you can be. God is watching. Your Prince is watching. Everyone is watching. Do not fail Verona in her hour of need. You are not so far removed from sin that your death will be salvation, for I have heard a great deal about your actions, Lord Montague, and yet never seen you at confession.”

With that commentary, he left.

It is not my place to pass judgement on one of God’s men, your Majesty. I understand that is your right. For this reason I will spare Friar Alfredo from the same justice that is being dispensed to the remaining traitors, so that he may face your court.

Even so; that mysterious stranger was right about one thing.

I yet have more work to do in this dark night. More assassins will surely come for my family, the Count, and myself. We shall be sure to be not found wanting.

In His most Glorious name,

Lord Montague

Latest play

Well it's night 6 at the moment.

Through some creative use of detective checking, here's the current standings:

3. Gasp! Its Jake - Montague Townie
4. Sapphire - Watch "Friar"
5. Black Kitty - Count
7. Sarck - Paranoid
12. major_pain - Capulet (veteran?)
15. Sky_Paladin - Montague Lord
16. Jeffu - Montague Sleeper
18. zero_kanipan - Definite Citizen
22. 1337guard - Citizen or Capulet
23. DNA.Styx - Drunkard
25. SpadaDellaSelva - Montague Sleeper
26. Eyolo - Montague Detective
27. Madogu Abuser - Montague Paramedic
29. NeoNostalgia - Capulet Bodyguard
34. Midnyt - Capulet Detective
35. BBC - Montague Veteran
36. DJROC - Citizen or Capulet
39. umhyuk - Citizen
40. Kegluneq - Citizen or Capulet
43. Suike - Montague Vigilante
44. Shazback - Citizen or Capulet
45. Sagi - Capulet
46. LOL Patrol - Capulet Instigator
49. Jun - Montague or Capulet Townie

In the lynch vote for Uber today I spotted that the numbers didn't add up during the tally, because of the updates and the roles we already knew, we worked out that LOL Patrol is the Capulet instigator.

We've learned through the narratives that Capulet is not honoring their side of the Destroy All Citizens bargain when they had Marco (their sleeper) kill Theobold (our sleeper). Because of this the deal is off, but we have neglected to inform Capulet of that.

We know that Umhyuk and Zero_Kanipan are citizens. If one of them isn't, the only contender remaining is Sarck. Everybody else who has voted has been checked and worked out to be not a Citizen.

The following players never voted and thus we know the third Citizen is one of these:
1337Guard, Kegleneq, DJROC and Shazback.

Our agreement with Midnyt was that they would hit Umhyuk, while we would hit Zero_Kanipan. Instead, what we expect to happen is for them to hit one of our guys (hopefully Sarck) while the Citizens will nibble on the houses some more. With only two kill power the casualties will not be catastrophic.

We have our medic on Spada, our active sleeper, who in turn is targetting LOL Patrol tonight. We want to knock out the Instigator so we can still call the lynch votes tomorrow. If we ever lose it, it will be nearly impossible to recover.

It would be awesome if Midnyt has his sleeper hit Umhyuk but I don't expect it will happen.

Tomorrow we will lynch Zero_Kanipan as Umhyuk said he would vote with us, I'll get him to vote for Zero. Then Black Kitty can autolynch Umhyuk.

If we're lucky, Mercutio and the Infiltrator are those two. That will leave just the Saboteur, who has no kill power, and thus eliminating the Citizens from the game.

During the night phase, we'll have our sleeper hit known Capulet targets, trying to hit the enemy sleeper or the paramedic. We'll keep our own medic on Spada since he now represents our control of night phase. During the day if mafia still has kill power left, we will lynch players on that list of four (Starting with Kegleneq). If they don't, we'll lynch known Capulets (Midnyt, Major_Pain, Sagi) first.

Jeffu is afk for a few more days, and BBC is gone until the 10th. The game will be over by then. This means Jeffu and BBC are both good bait to offer up, so to speak. They can't vote so I would rather they die than an active player; further BBC is the veteran and can soak up two hits. With any luck they will think he is a medic protected vigilante and waste time on him.

I also had somebody nibble on me the previous evening, since Capulet hit Theobald it's safe to say the mafia did it. They also nailed poor Squidworth.

Basically this night phase and the following day phase will decide the game.

My wish:
Enemy sleeper hits Sarck and dies.
Citizens hit Capulet medic and Jeffu.

Day phase:
Zero_Kanipan and Umhyuk are lynched and are Mercutio and the Infiltrator.

Then we all have cake and the game is done in time for everyone to go afk for the 4th of July~~

Players on our potential citizen list:
133tguard, DJROC, Kegleneq, Shazback, Sarck, Jun.

When you are strong, pretend you are weak...

I'm going to have to contact these unknown players and get them to vote with Montague if we are going to survive the Capulet retribution.

I expect that Capulet will work with us until one day they realise they have more vote power than we do. Then the balance of power will be tipped on its head. So it's up to me to make contact with those swinging voters to try to carry the day as long as I can.

If somehow we can get rid of all the Citizens and as yet have more votes...then...then we can still win this.

That is what I have to do.

Another letter to the King~

His Imperial Highness, Glorious and Dutiful, Courageous and True; I once more send tidings to your seat.

Forgive my temerity, the situation in Verona is becoming increasingly dire.

My allies and I were in pursuit of the supposed ring-leader of the uprising in the jewel of your crown. We had learned at great pain and at great cost the identity of the masked figure scouting around town at night time. Once finally cornered, upon his death we learned the far more disturbing truth. Ario – or ‘ChaoticAtomBomb’ was another member of the Verona Watch. Tragically, this is the second Watchman that we have found whose name was listed upon those who saw to attack the Crown. The Count had more luck and through tenacity, daring and wisdom uncovered one of the true servants of the enemy and put paid to THAT wretch.

I have been discussing with the remainder of House Capulet what to make of this situation. It’s clear to us now that the Watch are in allegiance with the enemy faction. Whilst I do expect Capulet forces to continue to make snipe attacks against my men, Montague is solely concerned with eliminating the barbaric threat from within the town. Should we finally put down the rebellion, I have no qualms in offering succour to the remainder of House Capulet. I bear them no ill will having thusly learned they were manipulated. I pray that that they would not seek to pursue a conflict that can end only in bloodshed and suffering for all. Perhaps it is foolish of me to have hope that they will honour their word, but I will honour mine and not knowingly strike down a Capulet while these ‘citizens’ still live.

I am concerned for the Count’s safety. Ere the previous eve was done, the man I had assigned as a personal bodyguard was assassinated. We have spoken of our concerns to one another. We believe that our enemy has learned that we are on their trail and have laboured with underhanded means to defeat us. You have more kin in Verona than Count Paris – though I do not know his regal title, Daniel, has also privately been corresponding with the Count and myself.

Daniel is an excellent boxer, a man of impeccable taste in wines and fine foods, and a gentleman. Over the last few evenings, he has been dining at House Montague, and escorting my daughter Lucy. If it pleases His Highness, I would gladly offer my daughter up to Daniel as his wife. My daughter is infatuated with him and the many risks he has taken to bring peace to this town. I know she will honour him and you with every breath she draws, should you give her permission to wed.

Privately, I am concerned about my safety and that of the Count. I am old. My death would not gravely affect Verona. I have assigned my apothecary to watch a sword for hire, Leo, who will be acting at the Count’s behalf to remove threats to the Crown, as the Watch cannot be trusted to act in your stead. Should brave, courageous Luke be cut down though, I would weep endlessly – for he has risked much for us all. However if news should reach you of my death, then I must fear for the Count. As the last vestige of your name in Verona, he will be the natural target.

Should the unthinkable happen and – I scarcely have the courage to write such unthinkable words – even our Count Paris, then…

Surely not.

My liege, I have just had a terrible, black thought.

We know now that His Highness and the indomitable forces that do enforce your will with steel are on their way here. And rightly so! For I am but one man and though my spirit is willing, I am outnumbered and at every turn beset by dogs and traitors and blackguards. Though I would gladly meet my end while placing twelve inches of my finest steel through the hearts of every one of those sons of Perdition, an old man like me canst’ honestly compare against so vile a thing. We, the defenders of your valour, won’t ever give up. However…could this have been their plan? Our enemy surely knew that the actions they have taken would have brought down the righteous justice of the Crown. They should not have done so lightly, for they must know that your arms and armaments are like the mighty claws of the eagle; swooping down from the heavens to strike without warning. Surely, they are weasels and vermin among men, they should meet the same fitting end – cut off and silenced forever without hope of recourse, taken into swift annihilation and torn asunder without hesitation.

If they knew this – could it be that they planned all along to draw you here? If they dared rise arms against our Prince, could they…

No. I cannot write it. The thought is so vile and twisted, I cannot entertain the thought long enough to pen it.

I will end it here. The Count calls for me. Both of us think that our time is short in this world, so we have set our affairs in order and will meet our ends bravely, if that is the fate that we are destined to join. However I intend to pull a few more teeth of the dragon before I am consumed.

Holy Emperor, unto this day I have not yet heard a response or orders. I fear that your messages have been intercepted. Should you have written your plans to me, I must counsel you to keep them secret from this day forth. For our enemy has likely learned of your presence and is plotting –

I hear sounds in the next room. I must go.

Lord Montague

Day 6

Hoo boy.

We've lost Stephanie aka Squidworth. I also took a hit overnight but because super-stealth-Suike is still around, I sucked it up like a man.

I've been talking with Midcat to try to find the remaining Citizens.

Our short list has Uberlegen, Zero_Kanipan, Umhyuk and LOL Patrol on it. If that doesn't pick up three Citizens, we have to open it up to Sarck, BBC and Jun. I've also asked our detective to check how many Citizens voted for Kanako, and Midcat will see how many Citizens voted for ChaoticAtomBomb.

I'm so disappointed CAB wasn't Mercutio. I was sure it was him.

We also had Sapphire contact us and reveal herself to be the Friar, the last member of the watch. Somewhat unfortunately she also voted for Kanako so it will wind up 'proving' my rp story to Aarin that the Watch had betrayed the Crown. It's rather odd how that worked out, including me making a comment that there was sounds from next door the same night I got hit a bit later...

It's clear the Citizens are gunning for Montague and it's obvious why - we have the balance of power simply through numbers, we have an active sleeper, and we've called most of the lynch votes this game. If we lose another two players, though, then Capulet will have the weight to make the lynches and our sleeper will have to start hitting Capulet to try to keep them in check. We have a slight advantage at the moment, but that advantage will be lost from a single night phase.

They also took out Santa, our last remaining town crier. There are four Citizens left, hopefully three after tonight.

I'm also hoping that Sarck is the real deal. If the Citizens are whacking the Montague voters; they'll eventually run afoul of Sarck...IF he is who he says he is.

I expect Madogu and Eyolo will be hit tonight. That's our medic and detective and with it I am reduced to just Suike and SpadaDellaVella as certified Montague players. The situation is looking extremely grim. If I'm super lucky Black Kitty will lynch another Citizen but seeing as she is not under threat at the moment, I can't see her doing it.

Suspicious-cats

Night 5 was really bad for us. We lost TheThirdRider who was the bodyguard, but also he was kind of the brains behind our outfit.

We also lost Kemindul, which meant group East was cut off AND we lost another sleeper (Skulkraken). To be fair he had been identified and publically identified. We couldn't save him with a million paramedics >.>

Hoookay.

What do these people have in common?

Uberlegen
Sky_Paladin
Skulkraken
Zero_Kanipan
Madogu Abuser
Santakuroosu
Jun
major_pain
Eyolo
squidworth
thethirdrider
sarck
ChaoticAtomBomb
Black Kitty
umhyuk
BBC
Suike
LOL Patrol

They all voted for Kaiba. Our detective checked to see how many of them were Citizens. I expected one, or perhaps two, if there were infiltrators since only one of these names appeared on my original Citizen list.

Turns out there are three.

Removing the 100% known names leaves the following suspects:

Uberlegen
Zero_Kanipan
ChaoticAtomBomb
umhyuk
LOL Patrol

THESE players are also potential Citizens that are pretending to be Montague and are at least voting where we ask:

Sarck
Jun
BBC

We're going to try to get rid of CAB today for a number of reasons.
1 - He has been claiming to be a serial killer.
The player tally shows that this is impossible. The unknown Unaffiliated roles are Watch roles.

2 - We hit CAB on night 1 and recieved this clue:
"Luke hunts, sword in hand for a meddler."
Mercutio is referred to as the meddler by Aarin and also in the Romeo and Juliet play. Luke was seen in the narrative as a member of House Montague.

3 - CAB survived a night hit. He told THG it was because he had an extra night life. He told others it was because he had a medic. That meant there were three medics in play on night one. Ironically, Link thought that I was one of them. The House medics were surely protecting their own assets. For CAB to have a medic, the Schizophrenic had to have rolled medic and covered him. Why would the Citizen medic cover a non-Citizen?

4 - THG claimed that CAB was a member of the watch. CAB was able to provide the secret player role to prove this. The ability of this role according to him is three night kills and two night lives.
Despite this, CAB has demonstrated that he has greater than three night kills.

5 - Link has been using his spreadsheet from the previous game for this game. He stopped updating it after he died, but he never changed the security settings and THG had access to this. Believing CAB to be a member of the watch, THG provided the list of known Capulets/Suspected enemies to CAB.

6 - The reason we found Kaiba was because he told THG that he was the Capulet medic, and that he covered CAB on the night that he was hit. However we knew that the Capulet medic covered a different target that night. Kaiba was actually a Citizen so it was impossible for him to have saved CAB, however, CAB had been telling everybody a medic protected him. The paper trail leads right back to CAB.
There are some super sekrit reasons too.

7 - CAB is one of the last players from Suike's-inner-circle-of-death. In accordance with prophecy, they must all die.

8 - CAB hit Suike on night 1 and knows that she is our vigilante.

9 - CAB also knows the identity of Santa, the town crier.

Another letter to the King

Man, this King-guy never checks his mail. It's starting to bother me. Maybe he doesn't <3 anymore? I should send him chocolates or flowers or something.

Anyway, here it is:

Holy Emperor, Divine Instrument of His Will and Knower of Truths;

Scarcely a day in to our informal alliance, the Count and I have perhaps uncovered something far more devious. Through careful research and talking with contacts, we have learned that the town Watch have been campaigning against your kin. One of them, ChaoticAtomBomb, is even posing as a serial killer!

Last night was the bloodiest yet. We discovered a spy in our midst and were forced to execute the chamber maid Rosaline after we found her passing on information about the Count and I to our enemies. Whom those enemies are is not yet verified. We have seen worrying signs and misinformation deliberately being broadcast – though I would not go so far as to accuse house Capulet of wilfully following the plans our secret adversary Mercutio, I fear it is only a question of when, not if, they will formally join together.

They are without leadership, without hope, without purpose – they live only for revenge, now.

The Count and I are working on identifying and expunging the seeds of evil from Verona. Capulet, willingly or otherwise, continues to step in the way.

Together, Count Paris and I laid a trap for the enemy Citizens. In to this trap fell Petruchio, posing as ‘Kaiba’. As you must surely remember, ‘Kaiba’ was one of the ring leaders in the death of your son, and TheHumbleGrasshopper – aka ‘Anthony’, leader of the Watch – was also implicated. We also noticed ‘ChaoticAtomBomb’ had a hand in your sons death. We will grant him a harsh reckoning.

By sunrise we hope to have removed forever this threat to the Crown.

We have some leads on the identities of the remaining traitors. I have lost several family members in the proceeding evenings, however I knew when we pursued the course of justice, my loved ones were at risk. This thought did not give me pause; indeed, I felt only to keenly the biting blade of sorrow and regret. Then I considered His Highness’s position.

Now is no time for tears. Now is needed men of action, men who will do rather than say, men who are not afraid to stand up in the night and say, “Once more, into the breach!” I look around this town and I see good men, men with fear in their eyes, men who would gladly give their lives in your name and no doubt will have to do so to end this plague upon our town. I also see weasels, cut-throats, snakes and foxes, I see shadows filled with baleful glowing eyes watching out with greedy mouths to tear apart the good things that you have placed here. For every bastard we cut down, another raises from b’neath him, but we are men of honor and we will never tire. This town will be saved by blood, fire, and sword – if it cannot be absolved, then it shall be redeemed instead.

I am afraid, I feel the same fear that every other must have – that death will come for him, secretly in the night, like a thief that cannot move during the day for his evil acts cannot be seen under the light of the sun. For God, noble and true, would surely strike down the sinner so much as look at him, and to sin in broad daylight – to kill, to take away your peaceful servants lives – they know what they do is wrong.

If it be a sin to covet honor, I am the most offending soul alive. That he which hath no stomach to this fight, let him depart; his passport shall be made, and crowns for convoy put into his purse; we would not die in that man’s company that fears his fellowship to die with us. But we in it shall be remembered – we few, we happy few, we band of brothers; for he to-day that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile, this day shall gentle his condition; and gentlemen in England now-a-bed shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here, and hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks that fought with us in these darkest hours.

Let Count Paris be the torch that banishes the shadows, and we will be his shield and sword. Though our enemy are many, we too are of great number and though I sense I will not live to see the end of this battle I am but one and many will replace me.

In short; though surely dark days lie ahead, the sun is bright, and the air is sweet. Should I find a better way to leave this green earth than defending your name? Nay, there is not one.

I go now to battle and victory. Your will be done.

It's an hero time

Squiddy, this one just came in from HQ. They need you to pretend that your balls are as big as the moon and you don’t give a damn about anything because you are immune to night hits.

We have been spreading the rumour that you are the Montague Lord, but you are reckless and won’t follow instructions. We believe that this little stunt ought to finally convince everyone that you are the mafia lord.

We don’t want the citizens to make kills tonight. We want to try to buy one more day of checks. So we want to make the Citizens think that playing a waiting game is actually to their advantage.

Please post this first section of quoted text in to the latest thread. Feel free to re-type/word it so that it is apparent that you are clearly acting against what you’ve been asked to do since all of the leaked Montague HQ sections have always been in a certain writing style.

“Well now that we have found the escape artist, and further narrowed down and confirmed the identities of the remaining mafia, this game is pretty much in the bag. The only way we can lose it now is if Citizens don’t do anything and we can’t lynch them fast enough before the time limit runs out since we don’t need clues since our information network is so good. So I say to you assholes, bring it on, we need you to kill a few townies off so that we don’t run out of time.”

Wait a couple of hours, then edit your post to say this instead-

“Well now that we have found the escape artist, and further narrowed down and confirmed the identities of the remaining mafia, this game is pretty much in the bag. I liked your magic trick, Kaiba. Do you think you can do it again for us tomorrow?”

If anybody asks why you changed your post, just ignore them, or handle it in your own unique Squiddy way ;)

Welcome to night invulnerability, we hope you enjoy your stay.

This is meant to do two things:

1 - Further reinforce that Squiddy is the Lord, despite the fact that a couple of people have guessed that he isn't. We think that making a big deal about him not being the lord will make our enemies believe we are lying about it. I want people to think Squiddy is the lord because then they won't hit him at night.

1b - In the event people know we are faking it, they will naturally look for the real lord. At the moment, I think myself, Suike or TTR are suspected as being the real lords. If Mafia are smart they would just hit one of each of us and see who can soak up hits.

2 - I want mafia to try to stall. In reality it's a bad idea for them. Every day we get clues on known Capulets, and we can sort out who the real mafia are. They should have gone all out last night because Dukat was sabotaged, unless they thought he was faking about being the town crier and just wanted to test.

Now that they know, they just might hit him.

Third letter to the King

(The quality of this one is not so good, I was very tired and distracted. This was the time when we officially switched to killing Citizens over Capulets, but we didn't know Citizens and Capulets were probably working together until Midnyt gave away suspect clues.)

To He who is Most Wise and Glorius, His Imperial Majesty and our Saviour, I send fair tidings and wishes of great fortune.

Your servant wishes to inform you of the latest developments in Verona. I am certain that His Highness has previously learned many of these events through divine intellect. I hope you find this news does not bore you.

Your son has been avenged. Lord Capulet and more of his traitorous spawn have met their so viciously deserved fates. Although we could not find the body of Juliet Capulet, I am pleased to inform you that the head of House Capulet lays rotting in the northwest gibbets, his flesh burned away, his head on a pike, slanderous tongue cut out and fed to worms. Even now a vast murder of ravens pound and beat upon his scorched corpse, a fitting end to the vomitous pustule.

God favored us in the preceding evening. As dawn came, while I lay weeping, unable to rest knowing my son was in mortal danger, there was a knock upon my chamber door. At once I arose, picked up my sword, and dove to protect Stephanie who was lost in blissful slumber. Then, the door opened! Smelling of smoke, sweat, and blood...it was my son! He had returned to me against all odds.

With the death of the Capulet leadership, I had thought this uprising over. With sunrise I intended to announce a cease of hostilities, however before I had another moments rest, I had another visitor.

It was Count Paris, and he was without guards. I threw down my weapon at once, and urged my son to do the same, for in these times of darkness to have drawn steel in the presence of nobility should invite a swift death.

We have been played for fools all along. The Count informed me that he had been labouring all these days to uncover the true source of this scourge in Verona. My heart sank as I heard the news. House Capulet had been incited to violence against the Crown. It had been a mere puppet, their Lord dancing to strings pulled by another shadowy, mystery figure. How apt! We cut off the head of the hydra, and now another has grown to replace it.

The Count told us that this enemy was far more dangerous and insidious than we had imagined Capulet to have been. While my family had been involved with pointless bickering with the Capulets, under the cover of our stupidity, he had been sifting, working, seeking, tirelessly hunting the true evil in Verona. He had already strung up one of the mongrels by the neck and learned of the conspiracy.

Mercutio. We must find him and his ilk and eliminate them before they destroy us all. I looked around the room upon the weary, tired faces of my family, and realised I had already risked too much and gained nothing, save the death of two of my family.

As the Count turned to leave, his purpose here complete, I realised once more that he stood alone. I had always suspected that it was the Capulets who had wanted the Prince dead - though we had delivered justice to the blackguards who had done the vile deed, and perhaps the House war was finally over - but it was a battle without meaning.

I cannot stand idly by while an enemy seeks to challenge the Crown. Up until now I had worked to protect the Count, never realising that we had just been in his way. Failing to coordinate our efforts...meant people had died for no reason.

My heart is tired of warfare. I long for a quiet Verona, free of conflict.

I have turned over all Montague assets to the Crown. I have given the Count the names of my people, my contacts, my treasury, everything. Only a few know of this. I have given him the secret codes that my family use to identify one another, the authority to give command.

We will take the fight to the secret enemy within Verona, and we will win.

God save the King!

Lord Montague

Clues, day 4

**The surviving Lord was seen in his study. He soon summoned Stephanie for a chat.
****Ario may not be a great marksman, but hunters only need be persistant.
******Alfredo maintains his loyalty to a new friend.
********Angelica keeps her eye on her new lover. Where is her Lady?
**********Valentine focuses his research on House Montague.
************Rosaline makes a man out of Stephanie!

2: I family checked Squidworth to make sure he was one of ours.
4: Refers to whomever killed CitizenX, allegedly CAB. But I'm not so sure.
6: A sleeper. Loyalty makes me think he's a medic type.
8: That'd be the Infiltrator checking out one of us to see if we are Montague or not. I'd like to say Squiddy, because that means the mafia aren't coordinating with Rosaline, but I doubt it. Worst case scenario is it's Suike :/
10: Rosaline got it on with Squidworth. Stephanie is a known Montague, if Rosaline didn't contact Squiddy then we can be reasonably sure she's not interested in doing so.

State of the game, night 4

We are not giving the clues to the Citizens. The only people who know the clues are the people who have access to the blog.

THG had this conversation with Suike earlier:

I'm weary about passing information through Squidworth, therefore I come to you~ <3
<3
Who was family-checked in Day/Night 2
Michael.
BK doesn't trust what Kanako told her, so the current energies are being spent on attempting to verify her bodyguards.
Especially because we have three Montague Bodyguards for some reason.
=O
And no Capulet bodyguards. >_<
BK would kill me if she knew that I asked anything about it though.
who are the three?
She wouldn't say.
kk
I'll pass the information
and pass the answer to you when it comes~
<3
I have a clue that says the person family-checked in Day/Night 2 abouts is Montague's bodyguard, and it will help her immensely in both possibly finding another citizen and in finding our Capulet bodyguard.
I suspect that Kanako lied to BK about who the bodyguards were in order to get citizens in a stronger informative position.
kanako is evil cat~

We did not tell THG who BK's Montague bodyguard is.

It's my belief that BK was given a fake clue.

Midnyt told CAB, myself and THG about the results of her check. Midnyt knows that we believed about her identity from THG, so he probably thinks we will believe again.

Let's look at the clue:
"Joachim discovered only the families voted against Theobald"

There are no ***'s to indicate which clue number this is. This clue is very specific and reveals a great deal of information. Our previous 'how many players in family m voted for xyz' reveals have always been very vague. This one is too good to be true. Then there is Kaiba's message which suggests he will give us the names of the players in the Skulkraken list that are mafia in exchange for his life. Obviously he will lie and give us fake names. However, if there were no mafia in the Skulkraken list, and they thought we were going to kill those targets, there's no reason for him to contact us.

The counterpoint to this is that it's possible Kaiba expects us to ignore him and kill everyone in the list. We have a detective check going up so provided Eyolo survives then we will know.

It's my expectation that the Capulets are now working with the Citizens. I think it's possible the Watch are working with the mafia. I expect that the Capulet medic is watching their own Detective. Should Kaiba not die tonight, it is because CAB did not hit him. CAB is also lying about his kill power.

What I think Kanako has done is a three way swap with the Capulet bodyguard, the head of the mafia, and the watchman who has kill power. They all know each other and they went along with this plan. If CAB wants to fake it, he will just claim that Kaiba is protected by a medic and he could not make the hit. However there is no way Capulet will leave their detective unprotected. They expect the mafia to betray them at any moment.

My list of players who were suspected Mafia, before today's lynch vote:

BScar, Major_Pain, Kaiba, Vampirate.

My list of players who were suspicious by means of no intel:

9. Nebecanezer - Status unknown, no intel. Never voted.
22. 1337guard - Status unknown. Never voted.
36. DJROC - Status unknown, no intel. Has not voted. DNA says if he dies, BK should contact him.
37. Uberlegen - Status unknown, no intel. Has not voted.
38. Qix - Status unknown, no intel. Has not voted.
40. Kegluneq - Status unknown, no intel. Has not voted. Possibly linked with BScar.

Aarin said in the chat today that two players were inactive and die during this night phase if they take no action. Those players are Kegluneq and Nebecanezer.

Of these:
Bscar
major_pain
NeoNostalgia
Sagi

Bscar and Major_Pain are already on my list of mafia. We have placed hits on both of them. I have one very likely legitimate sleeper hitting Bscar, and one reluctant and possibly faking it sleeper (Jeffu) hitting major_pain. I've asked Skulkraken to waste Sagi if he is active and has kill power.

Sagi has taken no action in this game and only voted for Skulkraken once Kaiba had votes against his name. Major_Pain may not be mafia, but Sagi probably is.

29. NeoNostalgia - Status unknown. Voted for Zaxser. Voted for Kanako and BoD, abstained. Likely Capulet.

Again, NeoNostalgia only joined in once Kaiba was under attack. I think he could be mafia, but Sagi more likely to be Citizen than Capulet, and we really are aiming for Citizens at the moment. Capulets seem to keep jumping in the way of all our kills. It's really frustrating.

I believe the night actions will be as follows:
Sarck will kill the infiltrator who is investigating him tonight.
Capulet paramedic will protect Midnyt.
Kaiba +1 more mafia member will hit Skulkraken to overcome the anticipated paramedic protection.
3 Mafia kills remaining = two on Eyolo to overcome the paramedic if we put him here.
1 Mafia hit on Dukat or a sabotage on Santa, since I believe Capulet will offer him up as bait.
Capulets probably have two sleepers with active kill power and will hit two out of Madogu/Gasp! It's Jake/SpadaDellaVilla.

The previous evening, Rosaline got it on with Squiddy. It's likely Rosaline knows he is a fake lord. We think that because we are making it obvious we want him hit the enemy won't hit him, and instead will seek the next most likely target. I don't know who that is. If we're super lucky, they think that Suike is our lord since she already soaked up a hit and will leave her alone until they find me.

Rosaline hasn't got in contact with you. I don't believe she would continue to work alone, and has probably infiltrated the Capulet or Mafia network and is providing them information in exchange for immunity.

I will need to see the outcome of tonight's actions. There is no reason for Midnyt to lie about how many mafia there are voting for Skulkraken unless Capulets are protecting them. Now that a known mafia has been made available, I expect that the Capulets will have given them their list of known Montague's in exchange for immunity. Their list is regretfully reasonably accurate.

They gave you a fake clue which means they thought you would give it to us. If they really are working together, that means they are against us and probably count you as one of 'us'. On the surface, tomorrows vote should be very clear cut - if Kaiba is still alive, we lynch him and Capulet 'pretends' to be working with us to kill him. What happens underneath the surface will be very interesting, and I expect the town criers - if they live - will have a very busy night ahead of them.

The events of day 4 - Black Kitty and I worked together to put out a trap for the mafia. We had previously learned that Major_Pain was 100% not Montague. The bait was, we wanted to put a very likely Citizen target up and challenge Major_Pain to change his vote. We knew Skulkraken was ours, and so did Capulet. This meant he probably would die over night despite our best efforts. I decided that his death should not be in vain and 'revealed' who he was, that we knew because of the enemy detective (who I exposed), and challenged the town that players who voted for Skulkraken were obviously mafia.

We then used THG's intel on Kaiba who was on their likely Citizen list who was faking being a medic. Odds are he was either the Capulet medic or a Citizen, both very tasty targets, so we changed to him. Unsurprisingly, once we had a Citizen in our sights, there was very little support for him (which happened for Major Pain too, oddly enough). Unfortunately Kaiba was the escape artist so he lived, and that puts us in our current predicament.

That was the trap. If Major_Pain was serious about killing citizens, he couldn't vote for a player who was publically revealed. So, either he is a Citizen himself, or he is part of the Capulet group that is working with the Mafia.

Basically you're voting to lynch me because you want to work towards killing Citizens? Why not vote for a suspected Citizen then? This seems slightly counter productive...

The Proposition!
I propose we, the two families put aside our differences, and choose one of the members Link has put forth as Citizens to lynch. If it ends up being a citizen, all well and good, we go for the next person on the list, and once the Citizens are gone, we turn our backs to one another and make with the stabitty. If the individual we choose to lynch isn't citizen, we know thast Link was talking through his ass, and we kill him next day.

In terms of Montague targets, Squidworth, Jun, Eyolo, SpadaDellaSelva, thethirdrider, TheWinkel, Madogu Abuser, Kemindul, Sky_Paladin, Gasp! Its Jake, Bscar, umhyuk, and zero_kanipan are all valid. Squidworth is likely best for today's lynching because he's easier to rally behind for his "awesome" play this game.
I just realised something interesting, and I noticed you mentioned that Link's list is actually of a list of Montagues.

So if we (the town) follow your proposition and assume that Link has been telling the truth, we (the town) shouldn't be voting for anybody on Link's list.

I amend your proposal to put someone who is NOT on Link's list up for a lynch. Kaiba has been posting but was not mentioned in Link's list. So why not vote for Kaiba instead?

Unless Link is lying.

Anyway, I have learned that Midnyt the Capulet detective, who was vouched by Link to me to be 100% the Capulet detective, that Skulkraken was a Montague. I trust Link because he told me on day 1 that he was the Capulet Lord and this was proved to be true. Citizens would know that he is not a Citizen, Montagues would not vote for their own guy, but Capulets...oh dear.

So that would make him not a Citizen. Nobody should be voting for Skul at this point because that would mean you are a Capulet or a Citizen. Since Citizens know who each other are, that would make any remaining player on the list a definite Capulet.

In case this isn't clear to anyone why this would be relevant...

A historian, you can trace the genealogy of both Families back to decipher which House a drunken aristocrat comes from. Once per day/night cycle, you may ask me if a player belongs to Capulet (or Montague). You will receive a yes/no answer to this. Based on the phrasing, unaffiliated members will not be revealed--neither will roles. There is no limit on how may times you can use this ability.
The Capulets have claimed that these people are Montagues. I will pick somebody else.

Major_Pain is not on Link's list. We (the town) can lynch him, or we (the town) can lynch Kaiba. Since you shouldn't put yourself forward, we (the town) will be lynching Kaiba.

I want to make it clear that I am choosing NOT Capulet. I am aiming for a Citizen.

Tightening the screws

Please distribute this message to BBC, Sarck and Squidworth.

BBC has thought of a fun idea. He has expressed an interested in sounding out the potential Citizens and seeing how they react.

Are the three of you interested in working together and pretending to be Lord Montague, the vigilante, and an unactivated sleeper?

Decide between yourselves who shall be who and let us know what you've done so that we can help support your actions.

Please keep Sky's identity secret for now. If you are asked, he is The Paranoid, working for Montague.

Hello DNA.Styx,

We are aware that there is some kind of interesting deal going down between various players at the moment. It is potentially a game deciding action. The crux of the situation revolves around ChaoticAtomBomb. We believe he is Mercutio.

House Montague requests that you rampage against ChaoticAtomBomb this evening, to ensure that none of the loyal subjects of the Crown come to harm this eve.

We have seen your previous rampages against house Capulet, and are impressed by your speed and style. We are concerned that continued attacks on Capulets may earn their ire and your subsequent demise. We do not wish this to happen.

In exchange for your help, Lord Montague has accidentally left the wine cellar unlocked this evening, and a fine selection of wines and cheeses are set. In addition, we offer this vessel - Sky_Paladin - as a target for you to rampage against the following night. We believe he is known as Montague to our enemies, and you attacking him will help ensure you are seen as neutral. The attack on ChaoticAtomBomb, and then subsequently Sky_Paladin, should make for some extremely interesting news around town.

Naturally you may be suspicious of such an offer. If so, please get in contact with Black Kitty to ask about the action. We believe she intends to look out for unaffiliated players such as yourself, and would not condone an action that brings you to harm - for example, Rampaging against a Paranoid character.

House Montague is intending for a shared alliance with unaffiliated players. We are aware that with the death of the Prince there is a new job offering in the cities elected leadership, and believe you are the right man for the job.

If that's not really your kind of thing, do remember that Lord Montague has the finest wines - and ale - in all of Verona.

Regardless of what you decide to do, we wish you a very merry evening, and the best of health to you.

How to run House Montague

If I die, one of the players reading this blog have to take over the house.

You need to know the cells so that you can contact them and be trusted.

To contact a cell, say to the player in the cell you are approaching the names of everybody in that cell, and the former contact that you are replacing.

The cells are as follows:

Sky's contacts:

Sky_Paladin - Skulkraken (inactive sleeper).
Skul is friendly and believes we are Montague. He is unverified. He will vote where we ask him too. He claims to be an inactive sleeper. Skul was found because we were told that Midynt (the Capulet detective) had rolechecked him, and Squid was told about it.

Sky_Paladin - Jeffu (unknown)
Rumored to be a Montague Sleeper, also from Squid. He is suspicious. His last contact was that we would not reveal any new players to him, but we would contact him and tell him where we would like him to vote.

Sky_Paladin - Santakuroosa (Town Crier)
Santa is cautiously friendly. He is sending the clues to BK no matter what, but will happily copy paste a chunk to us. He will listen to where we want him to vote, but is frightened of making himself a target and doesn't want to risk it. We can tell him where we would like him to vote, but he probably won't listen. It can't hurt to try. Treat carefully and allow him to maintain his neutrality.

Sky_Paladin - BBC (Uninjured Veteran), Squidworth (Townie), Sarck (Paranoid)
Squidworth was family checked and is definately Montague. We obtained Squidworth from BBC who contacted Sky out of nowhere after Sky voted for Link and BoD and demanded to know his affiliation. In response Sky told him that he was Montague and wanted BBC to vote for BoD and Link too. BBC half complied, and voted for BoD and Kanako instead. Later he voted for Link as was requested. He may not be verified, but he sure seems trustworthy.

Squidworth was tagged as being the Montague Lord. We are happy for this charade to continue, but we do suspect it has been shattered already.

We don't really know if Sarck is paranoid, but he does seem to be keen to take hits. He was given to us by Black Kitty after he approached her and asked to be put in contact with the Montagues. I had contacted Sarck ten minutes before this so it really was an uncanny cooincidence.

Sky_Paladin - Suike (Vigilante), TheThirdRider (Bodyguard)
Montague HQ. We are running the show.

Suike's main contribution to the game so far was infiltrating the enemy headquarters before roles had actually been assigned. From then she has supplied a steady stream of information to us and has demonstrated unnatural intuition in staying alive. She has impersonated (successfully) the Capulet Lord to more Capulets than Link has.

Unfortunately we think Suike's run of crazy awesome luck is about to come to an end, as THG is almost certainly Mafia and if so, she is compromised.

Suike put a hit on CAB previously. He didn't die. This is extremely interesting.

TheThirdRider somehow assembled a big group of Montagues before we got in contact with him, thanks to Black Kitty and her dodgy Capulet bodyguard. That he did it without using a role check and he found the medic AND the detective is incredibly impressive. Since he wasn't satisfied with just that, he went and dug up three more townies. For his next trick, he plans to find a sleeper that has an ability that will save him from the impending Mafia hit tonight...

Sky is a big coward. He's the one person immune to night hits that hasn't picked up any threat yet. Not for want of trying, though...

Sky_Paladin - Kemindful (Townie)
We're pretty sure he is a townie but I don't know why. He votes where we ask him to, and he has a cute avatar, so he's good in my book.

TheThirdRider contacts:

TheThirdRider - Eyolo (Detective), Madogu Abuser (Medic), Gasp! It's Jake (Townie), SpadaDellaSalva (Townie).

Given that THG contacted Eyolo, Suike and TTR out of the blue, I'm a bit concerned with this cell. My intuition says SpadaDellaSalva is suspicious because the name is long and confusing. For security, I have not had contact with this group. They don't know I am the Lord.

TheThirdRider - Kemindful (Yup, still townie)

This is the oddball cell. Kemindful is known by all the others in the previous cell, but we're treating him all on his lonesome because he is a link between TTR and Sky. If TTR is killed, Sky can still coordinate with the rest of TTR's original cell through Kemindful without giving away his identity.

TheThirdRider - Dukat

Dukat is the other town crier. TTR is primarily responsible for asking for his votes. Sky has had contact with Dukat but didn't reveal his house - he thinks.

TheThirdRider and Suike - TheHumbleGrasshopper

This is the one that will make or break the game.

We don't know if THG is lying about the watch. If he is, half the house is fucked. If he is telling the truth, we are going to reach the finish with barely a casualty.

TTR and DNA.Styx

Not actually a cell. TTR is our contact with DNA.Styx. So far DNA has happily rampaged against Capulet, but I don't actually know if it was against targets we asked...

Night 3 additional developments

Santa has said that he would prefer not to vote, and will likely vote in the Capulet way if he must, but is welcome to hear our suggestions.

I have contacted Jeffu. He has responded suspiciously and is unwilling to talk without being told other Montague names. I told him that we don't need to know his role for him to be useful, and asked him to simply vote as he was told. If he is Montague, great! I also reminded him that if he wanted to infiltrate the family, this is the way to do it...

I still have not made contact with Zero or Jun. I want to see the results of the night actions. I have already taken far too many risks with other people's lives in this game and I have no right to do that.

Night 3 developments

I'm giving Black Kitty an invite to this blog.

I'm hoping that by combining our resources we will be able overcome a very cunning trap that ChaoticAtomBomb, TheHumbleGrasshopper, and possibly Umino have sent to us.

We have a detective check going through on THG to verify if this story of The Watch is legitimate, or if it is in fact a load of hogwash and we are being sold a bridge.

The problem is that we believe now that THG is mafia, and CAB is Mercutio. We want to lynch CAB, but tomorrow is too late - we believe he is going to hit Eyolo and if that happens we don't find out the results of the detective check. No detective check = we don't ever find out about the watch.

We are hoping to divert CAB to hit a known citizen, as Citizens cannot kill other Citizens. If CAB kills a Citizen, his story of being a Serial Killer checks out. Any other result and he dies tomorrow, if I can help it.

We are also contemplating putting him on to Sarck, who is allegedly paranoid. But we don't know if Sarck really is paranoid, and BK will have shown her hand in this method. Additionally, we don't kill a Citizen this way (unless Sarck is faking about being the paranoid).

We want to do this in a way that meets BK's needs (ie verify a serial killer without losing a bodyguard) and meets our needs (keeps Eyolo alive to verify THG's status).

I am considering to volunteer myself, I am immune to night hits and if they really knew how much correspondence I have been doing they would not hesitate to knock me out.

BK has the right idea though. She has to be the one that selects the target. That is the only REAL way to prove that a) CAB is a serial killer and b) that he will do as he is told. If he fails in this, he proves himself mafia, and we have to kill him.

I have given BK access to this blog so she can see the true state of our affairs.

Should the unthinkable happen - TheThirdRider, Suike, and Sky_Paladin all dead - the information contained here may help Black Kitty still carry the day forwards to a Montague and unaffiliated victory.

For you future readers who come here and say, "Fsst! Black Kitty is working for Montague!" Know this: It is not she who needs us. It is we who need her.

We are working for Black Kitty now. Not the other way around.

Game at night 3

TL;DR version:

This e-mail is for your eyes only. In the wrong hands it is the end of us.
I have determined who the two inactives are that will be killed off (Nebecanazer, Kegluneg). We will not be approaching additional potential players until we see the roles they bore after they are killed this evening.
CAB is probably Mercutio, and that is why Suike's kill did not go through.
I believe THG is telling the truth. But, just in case, put that Detective check through anyway.

Number of Montague or Suspected Montague: 13/16
1 Lord, 1 Vigilante, 1 Instigator (dead), 1 Detective, 1 Bodyguard, 1 Paramedic, 1 Veteran, 4 townies, 2 sleepers, Romeo. 1 sleeper and one townie unaccounted for.

Players who are likely to be Montague:
TracerBullet; ultimately must be killed. Dangerous to approach. May die tonight with Juliet, if Umino is killed and Juliet.
Skulkraken, potential sleeper #1.
Jeffu, potential sleeper #2.
Zero_Kanipan; works with unaffiliated interests. Possibly Rosaline?
Jun and TheWinks - one of these is likely to be the Capulet bodyguard. The other one is probably ours. Too risky for us to approach. We will need the player to approach us and say who they are.

THE ONLY ROLES FROM UNKNOWN PLAYERS THAT CHECK OUT ARE TOWNY (1) OR SLEEPER (1). If we get any other role, or too many of those roles, it means we have a liar in that bracket of players, or the new comer is an enemy trying to infiltrate.

Anomalies and suspicious characters:

There are twelve Capulets left:
1 Instigator, 1 Detective, 1 Bodyguard, 1 Paramedic, 1 Veteran, 4 townies, 2 Sleepers, Juliet.

Sapphire
Nebecanezar - on inactive list
Umino
Kaiba
1337Guard
NeoNostalgia
Midnyt - likely detective
DJROC
Uberlegen
Qix
Kegluneq - on inactive list
Shazback
Sagi
LOL Patrol
CitizenX
Jun

Suspected Citizens:
ChaoticAtomBomb, BScar, Major_Pain, Kaiba, Vampirate, CitizenX.

CAB was hit but did not die. Possibly Mercutio.

All other players are potential Capulets with no harmful effects. We will wish to eliminate Midnyt as the next most harmful Capulet player, the Detective. Enemy sleepers may be trouble but fortunately we already nailed one of them.

Players who we have no intel on at all:
9. Nebecanezer - Status unknown, no intel. Never voted.
22. 1337guard - Status unknown. Never voted.
36. DJROC - Status unknown, no intel. Has not voted.
37. Uberlegen - Status unknown, no intel. Has not voted.
38. Qix - Status unknown, no intel. Has not voted.
40. Kegluneq - Status unknown, no intel. Has not voted. Possibly linked with BScar.

I have been running some numbers and checking my contacts.

I suspect these players of being Citizens.
ChaoticAtomBomb, BScar, Major_Pain, Kaiba, Vampirate, CitizenX.

CAB was hit but did not die. Possibly Mercutio.

Annoying players who I have nothing or next to nothing on:
Nebecanezer - Status unknown, no intel. Never voted.
1337guard - Status unknown. Never voted.
DJROC - Status unknown, no intel. Has not voted.
Uberlegen - Status unknown, no intel. Has not voted.
Qix - Status unknown, no intel. Has not voted.
Kegluneq - Status unknown, no intel. Has not voted. Possibly linked with BScar.

Frustratingly there are exactly six. The 'marked for inactive' list apparently only numbers two - the only players who I have seen comment in the threads thus far are Qix, 1337guard, DJROC and Uberlegen. We can expect that if, Kegluneq or Nebecanezer die, it is from inactivity. They may be our two missing roles. We will not be approaching more players until the inactives are killed off tonight.

Bscar was a singleton voter against Kegluneq on day 1 and did it again on day 2 for Qix. He picked two potential inactives to vote against. We suspect he is fishing to be picked up by either house who want a mafia contact. We ran a "how many Montagues voted for Qix" check on Qix day two, which revealed Bscar is definitely not Montague. May be an as-yet-unidentified unaffiliated unit. Did not vote day 3, suggesting he has been 'picked up'.

If Montague takes more hits than Capulet, then we will lynch a suspected Mafia. If Capulet takes more hits, we will lynch another Capulet, rewarding the Citizens for their good behaviour.

CLUES:
We have half of the clues from Day 1.
We have all of the clues from day 2.
We anticipate to receive all of the clues from day 3.

Alibis:
Day 1-
The Count, The Prince, and Rosaline are all mentioned.
Petruchio is a friend of Tybalt's in Romeo and Juliet. Petruchio is a ghost or small-part character in the play. Petruchio was also rescued in the narrative by a Capulet guard. Clues linked to Petruchio are DEFINITELY CAPULET.

Day 2-
Angelica is Juliet Capulet's nurse. Clues linked to Angelica are DEFINITELY CAPULET.
Alfredo - No information, does not appear in the play. Possibly unaffiliated or Citizen.
Saul - One of the town criers.
Michael - Our valiant defender of all that is good and right. Clues that refer to Michael refer to TheThirdRider.
Matthew - Clues referring to Matthew are the Capulet Bodyguard.
Gregory - mourned for Lisa. Definitely Capulet.
Sampson - mourned for Lisa. Definitely Capulet.

Day 3-
Stephanie - a female companion of Lord Montague. Definitely Montague. POSSIBLY a sleeper role.
Luke - an armed Montague. Possibly refers to the Montague vigilante.

Clues :
Day 1 -
*Benvolio was seen near Lisa's home early in the day.
***The crimson Lord was in his study until almost dawn. The name 'Lisa' was heard whispered through locked doors.
*****Rufus was seen stumbling out of a disreputable inn. Rosaline exited the same door an hour later.
******Lisa wakes to find herself in the infirmary, face covered in blood and bruises.
*******Angelica, looking for her Lady, crossed paths with a bloodied young drunk.
********A man of honor, Simon made sure Daniel wouldn't hurt anyone tomorrow.
*********Balthasar pays Benvolio a late-night visit, concerned for his health.
***********A disturbed man was seen trying to help the dying Rufus.
************Count Paris hears the morning's news with his tea and a smile.

12 clues, 2, 4, and 10 remain unknown.

Benvolio is the Montague detective, Eyolo. The name sounds like Benvolio ;)
Crimson Lord = Lord Montague. Lisa is BoD (now dead) being discovered.
Rufus = TAP, now dead.
Rosaline got it on with TAP.
Lisa was beat up.then killed.
Angelica, Capulet girl, has some encounter with DNA.Styx, the Drunkard. Medic?
Simon and Daniel - it sounds like Simon sabotaged Daniel. DEFINITELY MAFIA. We did not hear any of our allies being sabotaged at this point.
Balthasar is our paramedic.
A disturbed man - it sounds like mafia schizophrenic tried to help TAP.
And of course Black Kitty received all the clues.

Day 2 -

*Joachim shadows a green-cloaked stranger.
**The cobalt Lord invites Joachim into his study.
***The Lord of the violent house discusses birthright and allegiance with Michael prior to the public execution.
****Benvolio hits Verona's streets in search of knowledge. Someone else was targeted for Franco's fate.
*****Luke hunts, sword in hand, for a meddler.
******Ario finds enough issue with the conflict to enter the fray.
*******Alfredo is shocked at the night's bloodshed. He lends aid.
********Balthasar consoles an injured friend.
*********Angelica finds no peace in search of her errant lady.
**********A green-cloaked man wakes in an unfamiliar house.
***********Rosaline has her way with a very important man-take that, Paris.
************The Silent Woman seems to be a popular brothel. Harmon likes it enough.
*************Lord Capulet wakes in his estate's ward-room, confused and battered.

Important: 13 clues.

We aren't sure who the green cloaked stranger is. At first we thought it was our vig as our vig received a hit last night, however.more and more I do believe it is the town watch player, THG.
Cobalt Lord = Link. This target was eliminated today. Good job team.
Lord of the Violent House - Lord Montague used the family check on Michael to identify which of the bodyguards belonged to us. This was the second best move in the game so far.
Detective Ben is checking out who voted for Qix. This is how we determined that Bscar was not Montague.
Luke hunts.this is our vig hitting the 'meddler'. In the play, Mercutio is ultimately responsible for the house war. He and Romeo are friends; Romeo is attacked by Tybalt but Romeo refuses to fight as he will offend the Capulet family (and he loves Juliet). Mercutio takes up his weapon and goes to battle Tybalt, Romeo intervenes to quell the violence and Tybalt steps forward and kills Mercutio who was being restrained by Romeo. Romeo is then honour bound to kill Tybalt, and thus the war begins.
Our vig hit CAB last night. He did not die. CAB told Umino and Link that he was a serial killer. Kanako told Black Kitty that CAB was her bodyguard. When challenged which house CAB belonged to, CAB said he was from Montague. Black Kitty wisely did not believe him. Lord Montague was revealed to BK on day 2, she asked him to use his family check against the trustworthy bodyguard and thus the Montague bodyguard was recovered.
We believe Kanako lied to Black Kitty, and that the real bodyguard is still at large. It stands to reason that she would supply a mafia member to BK, hoping to gain information, knowing that BK would be well informed. And she was part right - I think Kanako did not account for BK's maintained neutrality. We had no idea she was in such danger. If we save her tomorrow, we will have surely bought her loyalty.
CAB did not want to be given to the Capulet lord and insisted he was Montague. I believe he is Mercutio or the veteran, however the 'meddler' clue is the final piece - he has to be Mercutio.
Ario is probably a sleeper that was activated. I think Alfredo is an unaffiliated medic:
"Alfredo snuck a sip off his flask, quite aware that a flock of acolytes could be hiding behind some tree, ready to ambush him into another theological debate. For the boys' own good, they better not be planning a war of words today.
The sun hovered just over the chapel.
In the monastery grove, Alfredo waited for a sign."
Sounds like a priest or church related role.
Balthasar medics up our vig.
Angelica - don't know her role. Searching may indicate Joachim is the Capulet detective. If so, Joachim is the player who hit THG overnight and Link did a family check on Joachim/their detective. This may be why Link said to me, "Midnyt is 100% our detective." We don't know who hit THG. It might have been mafia.
Rosaline gets it on with Paris. No clue as to who she is. I'm surprised that Rosaline did this as BK's identity is publically known. Possibly resulted in being able to force BK to vote during the next day.
I have no idea what the Silent Woman and Harmon refer to.
The last clue is Styx beating the crap out of Lord Capulet. Lord Montague intends to gift the Drunkard with a case of his finest wines.

Second letter to the King

My Liege,

Please forgive my insolence for contacting you again so promptly. I am writing to advise you of the latest developments in the pursuit of justice, against the vile traitors who so cruelly took the life of your noble son.

It is as I suspected. After applying even modest public pressure, the cowards betrayed each other. 'Link' - announcing himself to be Lord Capulet - and 'Umino', whom we suspect to be the harlot Juliet Capulet - have publically come forth and announced their role in their crimes. They have begged for support, and the will of the populace to spare them! Lord Capulet has called for a House War, and asked for his brethren to rise up in arms against Montague, the citizens of Verona, and indeed, your own loyal Watchmen!

In the face of such repugnant audacity, I have perhaps acted rashly. Please forgive me, Highness, or if you cannot - at least hear my motives.

I have overhead the whisperings of servants. I have seen the treacherous looks of peasants in the streets. I can feel unease building up in my shoulders. Bloodshed has stained the air. The smell is not unlike burned copper, leaving an acrid, bitter aftertaste in my mouth. Though my wits and senses are somewhat dulled with age, my spirit and resolution are undaunted. I have raised my whole family, those I could contact, in defiance of the traitor-lord. We are in terrible danger as I write.

I desire that the first sight that should greet you upon arrival here shall be the heads of the Capulet heretics on pikes at the city limits. Their bodies shall be hung from gibbets, with only the ravenous crows feasting on their flesh for company. I wouldst prefer that we could deliver the Capulets and their wicked kin to you alive for your pleasure, however, they are cunning, vile serpents. No sooner do I turn my back than they are using their conniving lies to pervert the cause of order, and turning my own servants against me! One cannot tame a snake. I know that to kill another of your subjects is a crime against the Crown. I plead guilty to it, my Lord, and passionately do declare it. For those who turn against the Crown are its enemies, and all those who call themselves loyal and true must stand up and smite that which is wicked. Although it is not my hand that drives the sword, it is my words that inspire it. I shall welcome your sentencing, for at that time I will know that justice has prevailed and your law restored.

My son was attacked and nearly slain in the previous eve. We knew that the enemy had learned of his presence, so I had my apothecary travel in secret behind him. Fortunately our enemy was lax in delivering the fatal blow, preferring to leave my son in cruel suffering, to die in terrible agony alone in the gutter. Faithful, courageous Balthazar had moved up at once to tender medical aid to - ah. I nearly wrote his name.

Brave, foolish boy. Even so wounded, he went back to the vipers nest. In their confusion that he yet still lived, they killed one of their own, suspecting him a traitor. I cannot save him. My son will surely perish this eve. Knowing this, he still went back. My apothecary is known, my son is known...I am proud of him that he would risk everything in your name. But, I CANNOT save him. If our actions to still the uprising by Capulet fail this day, Montague will surely fall.

That brings me to my next point, your Highness.

I have not yet recieved the expected orders. Should you have sent a messenger already; I fear he has been overcome or delayed. In the event of my death before your arrival, please seek out Benvolio, Balthazar or Michael - all are trusted by me, though for their own protection I have not yet informed them of your impending retribution. The servant needs not know the means or the method, only your will. Montague will obey without question or pause.

I must go. Count Paris is doing his best to quell the violence, however despite his recent efforts he does not have the regal authority and experience that his better cousin bore. I will stand before him, as will my family, as a buffer between the unwashed rabble that would defy your authority, and the good, clean and righteous sons of virtue that we must protect - or die trying. The Count does not trust me, perhaps wisely - should there be enemies in my midst, all the better for him to keep me at distance so that hidden assassins cannot seek him under my cover. We will protect him silently at a distance. He does not know I have written to you. He has no part in this.

If they dared attack the Prince, I fear the Count will fall soon.

If it happens, it will be over my dead body.
