End game?

We've managed to wipe out House Capulet, but the game didn't end.

We take it to mean that the last surviving member of the Watch, Sapphire, may in fact count as a House and so has to die too.

If you're reading this as the first post, that means the game ended before I could write something else.

Start from the bottom and read your way up!

Apology to Squidworth

Hi Squid,

I wanted to personally apologise if I upset or seemed mean to you.

There is some things that I need to explain but I am worried if I say it to you it will appear in the thread or somehow get back to our enemies.

I am the montague lord. Everything in quote blocks was written by me, with a few exceptions that were written by Black Kitty. Nobody outside of the house officially knows this except Sarck, who is the paranoid. Anybody - especially THG - who comes up to you and says about it must not be told because we are pretending that Suike is the lord now so that she won't be hit. Nobody knows - if THG says to you "I am told that Sky is the lord" please deny all knowledge of who the lord is.

You did a great job in the game. I'm really sad that you were hit because the same night you were hit, I was hit too.

In hindsight I should have given you more information and access to the blog so that you could have done a better job at impersonating me. Having you stand out like this was a big risk, but because of it, you DID save the game for us. We know now that Capulet's strategy was to hit everybody in the house once - they wanted to hit Eyolo and Madogu before you because they knew they were the detective/medic.

However because they hit you before Madogu, it meant that Madogu was still alive to use his medic powers to save our sleeper, who WAS hit two nights ago. If we had lost our sleeper then, it would be a Capulet victory now.

So when the game is done I will explain all that you did for us to Robod-cat, so he will know that you brought about a Montague victory, and then he can be impressed and apologise for berating you.

After the game is done I will share the blog with everyone and answer every question that you want to know.

I am sorry that you died, and I am sorry if I hurt your feelings. I've been worried sick about how to get the house to the end when the Watch, Citizens and Capulet were allied against us. It's been a very rough road and there is a hell of a lot going down behind the scenes that if it was even HINTED about would have spelled death for the rest of the house.

However you proved yourself in this game. I hope that in future we are on the same side again. With your work, we will have a Montague victory before Wednesday.

Take care, be well, and safe.

Fire is out of control~

I have written to Aarin requesting he cancel the ‘This Fire Is Burning’ condition however he is insistent that it goes through.

Additional factors are that Mercutio’s death does NOT terminate the This Fire Is Burning condition, and ANYBODY is a potential target. Only medic protection will save you, not bodyguards, not lives, and it can hit anybody (including the Unaffiliated players).

Henceforth we need to end the game as quickly as possible. That demands we annihilate House Capulet.

Here’s the enemy intel:

Midnyt – Detective

Major_pain - ???

Shazback - ??? and also afk, kill second to last

NeoNostalgia – Capulet Bodyguard, kill last

DJROC - ???

Keglaneq – Capulet Veteran

The only roles we don’t know are who is the sleeper, and who is the medic.

If we lynch major_pain and he is the medic, we hit DJROC. If we lynch major_pain and he is the sleeper, we hit DJROC. In other words, we have to lynch major_pain and then have our sleeper hit DJROC.

There is a chance I will be killed tonight, so this is the order I want you to kill/lynch things in case I am dead and am unable to talk:

Major_pain (lynch) (today)

DJROC (hit) (tonight)

1337guard (lynch) (tomorrow)

Midnyt (hit) (tomorrow night)

Keglaneq (lynch)

Shazback (hit)

NeoNostalgia (lynch)

GG Montague.

If we lose our sleeper to Cat’s Fall we will have to be creative. If we lose Spada, I want Madogu to cover Suike since she is at most risk from a direct hit.

We only have a one person advantage over Capulet. Only one of them are afk for sure (Shazback) but DJROC and Keglaneq have never voted. As it stands Capulet have a vote power of 3, and they will surely get 1337guard voting with them so they will have 4. BBC is currently afk so we have a vote block of 5 but we will all need to vote in case an Unaffiliated (Sapphire) votes with them.

It is likely that Suike’s cover is now totally blown as there is only one legitimate Capulet townie left, and she is claiming to be it. Montague, the only way we can save her is if we take down the sleeper before they put their hit on her. We have to all vote to lynch major_pain asap, and Spada, you have to put your kill in for DJROC as soon as the time ticks over.

EXCEPTION – if major_pain is their sleeper, I want you to hit 1337guard instead. No sense leaving a loaded gun sitting around.

Cat’s Fall hurts us more than Capulets because we have more members and therefore are more likely to be hit. However we have better intel than our enemy, largely due to the crazy risks that Suike has taken, the patience that Eyolo has had in putting up with all these detective checks, the initiative that Jordan used to find cell East, Spada’s continued tolerance of me switching kill targets every thirty seconds, and the honesty of Jun and Gasp. Even Squidworth proved useful to us in the end, and BBC’s proactive contacting of me gave us an extra vote when we needed it most. I am sad that Kemindul died, because he was a resourceful and helpful player, and I promised that we would avenge him. I promised Santakuroosa, too – and once 1337guard is down, that promise will be fulfilled. In the end it was Zaxser’s little suicide stunt at the beginning that helped unit our family; he doesn’t know it yet but I will let him know after the game that even his demise was not in vain.

Every player who ever lied to Black Kitty died. You all told the truth to me, and because of it, we have a united group, our family is assembled, we know who our enemies are, and they do not know us.

I also want to place an extra special to Black Kitty who has remained neutral throughout this game and tolerated my continued attempts to get information out of her without snapping and auto-lynching me >.>

No matter else what happens, I am thankful that we have a good team. Cat’s Fall may change the outcome of the game, but I will know that at this point we would have won and damn it, we still will.

Please put in your votes for major_pain. Do not ninja vote – put your names up as fast as you can so that the enemy is dispirited and won’t resist. Let’s end this war.

Letter to the enemy~

Hi 1337, I've been asked to pass this message on to you.

[blockquote]

1337guard,

We were informed today by Midnyt that you are Mercutio, and then House Capulet requested that we use our sleeper to hit you.

Obviously we have no intention of doing this because it will give Capulet one free night of killing Montagues, and we have to question as to why they would supply us your name and then not make such an attack themselves.

Additionally, we already scheduled our attack for a different target. Even if we switched to you, it would be too late to prevent you from making a hit.

Montague had narrowed Mercutio down to either yourself, Keglaneq, Shazback or DJROC. After asking all of these players to vote for Zero_Kanipan, none of them actually did it so we were no closer to identifying you.

We're pretty sure nobody is going to hit you tonight so you've got one free night to smash something before both houses go 'zomg, nobody hit Mercutio!??' and regretfully lynch you.

It just so happens we know a number of House Capulet members, and thought you'd like the opportunity to hit something of value.

We're certain that Capulet has their medic protecting their sleeper. Unfortunately we don't know who the medic or the sleeper is yet. However, that means their medic isn't on, say, their detective Midnyt, or any of the other quiet members.

Shazback is apparently afk, so he's no good for you. But you could really cause some trouble by hitting Keglaneq, who has been super quiet this game and never voted, or major_pain who has been extra loud and first put us on to hitting Kaiba.

We'd like to say that we have some good offer for you or that this is a way for you to extend your game time past tomorrow's lynch, but that would be a lie (unless Aarin has given you special powers~). So we are blatantly asking you to hit something from Capulet under the motivation of revenge, since if it wasn't for Capulet tellin us who you were, we were at least three nights away from it.

Regardless, you've led us a merry chase, and you've killed an awful lot of House members. It would be a shame if you happened to hit a player who was a veteran, protected by a medic or bodyguard, or was the paranoid, and wasted your last hit. I assure you that none of the players I have mentioned here are covered by a medic or are the paranoid, but I can't vouch for certain about the veteran. It just so happens that Montague still has it's veteran, the paranoid voting in our bloc, our bodyguard and our medic, so if you want to make a kill, your best chance is against Capulet.

Lastly, if you're not Mercutio, that means Capulet has sold us a bridge, and you should be freaking out as to why Midnyt sold you out to the Montague's.

Thank you for playing - we hope to see you in the next game, hopefully on the same team this time.
[/blockquote]

Night 8

Welcome, House Montague.

We had all of the players who said they were from House Montague voting for ChaoticAtomBomb so we had our detective run a 'How Many Montagues are voting for ChaoticAtomBomb' check and it turned up 9, which cooincidentally, was exactly how many people voting for CAB were suspected Montagues.

Have a quick read of this list so you know who is who and whom you can talk to.

For now it's best if we avoid contacting our enemy and revealing any information.

3. Gasp! Its Jake - Montague Townie
4. Sapphire - Watch Friar
5. Black Kitty - Count Paris
7. Sarck - Paranoid
12. major_pain - Capulet unknown
15. Sky_Paladin - Montague Lord
22. 1337guard - Citizen Mercutio
23. DNA.Styx - Daniel
25. SpadaDellaSelva - Montague Sleeper
26. Eyolo - Montague Detective
27. Madogu Abuser - Montague Paramedic
29. NeoNostalgia - Capulet Bodyguard
34. Midnyt - Capulet Detective
35. BBC - Montague Veteran
36. DJROC - Capulet Unknown
40. Kegluneq - Capulet Unknown
43. Suike - Montague Vigilante
44. Shazback - Capulet unknown
45. Sagi - Capulet unknown
49. Jun - Montague Townie

We are currently hitting Sagi, and we believe Capulet are hitting us but we have no idea whom the target is. Following their hit pattern (TheThirdRider, Kemindul, Sky_Paladin, Squidworth, Spada, Jeffu) the next likely targets are BBC, Eyolo or Madogu. Our enemies have not double hit or hit the same player twice so far, they are obviously searching for our medic, and with good reason - he's saved two hits already.

After we lynch 1337guard tomorrow, the game basically boils down to who kills the enemy sleeper first. We have to assume Capulet are not idiots and have their medic covering their sleeper, we are doing the same. So we are going to whack the surviving Capulets one at a time and see what falls out. We are going to leave Midnyt because we know he is not the Medic or the sleeper. If we find a target that absorbs a hit and doesn't die, it's either their vet or the medic protected target - lynch the target that took the hit. Ideally we want to kill Capulets that are active and vote; this gives us greater power to win the lynch without having to ask our Unaffiliated players to help.

So, here's a hit order:

45. Sagi - Capulet unknown

Sagi is up first. Sagi has been voting occasionally.

12. major_pain - Capulet unknown

Major_pain has been regularly voting. The reason we hit Sagi first is because we have a spy in the enemy midst and we want to see what major_pain and Midnyt say to each other tomorrow, hopefully to give our spy good intel on our primary target.

40. Kegluneq - Capulet Unknown

Keg has never voted. He was suspected to be a Citizen right up until Capulets told us 1337guard was Mercutio. He never went afk, which means he's been doing something every night...

36. DJROC - Capulet Unknown

By now we should have found either the medic or the sleeper because we know the roles of two of the remaining Capulets, if we didn't find the medic yet it has to be Shazback.

34. Midnyt - Capulet Detective

Midnyt's detective skills ceased to be useful once they identified 1337guard. Both houses should have a complete list of their enemy by now, although Capulets probably do not know who the paranoid or the last member of the Watch is.

44. Shazback - Capulet unknown

Shazback is apparently going afk for the rest of the game so he won't be voting. He is therefore not a threat and can be left til the end.

29. NeoNostalgia - Capulet Bodyguard

It probably won't get to this point, but the last Capulet to die must be NeoNostalgia. Until then, we don't touch him. He is harmless to us, and occasionally voted, but if he dies then Black Kitty is open to being hit and killed.

I promised her that she would live to the end of the game, and I intend to honor that promise.

And another letter to the King.

((This guy never writes back. He is the worst kind of pen friend ever. He made a big promise 'zomg orders tomorrow' and now it is just silence. It's really heartbreaking. Am I destined never to know true love?
To His Imperial Highness, your humble and loyal servant wishes fair tidings, safe passage, and good health.

This vessel begs forgiveness for the abruptness in which the preceding communication ended. Surely, ‘twas the stroke of providence and miracle that even that scrap of paper was dispatched to thee. Upon the midnight hour, as I was but quietly crafting my words to He who is Most Glorious, as you know from previous events, I was beset upon by a vandal! No sooner had the villain broken through the door and drawn steel against me, than my valiant son Luke interceded on my behalf. They fought neck and toe for scarcely a minute, before the cowardly assassin leaped headlong out the chamber window and vanished into the night. That wretch knew he was against a far better man in both spirit, skill and faith and fled before the justice he so wickedly deserved. I had just yet stood and thanked my son, whereupon we heard a woman’s choked off scream - alas and alack! The vagabond had, thusly been denied of his preferred kill, contented himself with the first poor woman who stood in his path. My lovely Stephanie now joins the many dead in Verona. As I said before; now is not the time for tears, but my patience and faith are sorely tested.

Not all evil went without justice ere the sun went down. This morning I found the remnants of the traitor Felice, known conspirator against our Prince, riddled with arrows. The Count’s man, Leo, claimed to have struck at her during the night as she went about her way, spreading disease, filth and lies, and her unholy countenance did prevent him for placing the final blow, nobleman that he is. But he placed his mark upon her, and thusly, the village folk granted her a fitting end for all traitors – a shameful, insignificant death, full of fear and suffering.

My steward and advisor Benvolio has continued on the path of our adversaries, retracing the final steps of our noble Prince, and gathered the names of yet more of the conspirators. We know them only by their false names – “Zero_Kanipan” and “Umhyuk” – but rest assured, this day or the next, they too will meet Felice’s fate. For ‘Uhmyuk’ I intend to grant him the same blessing that Wolf the Quarrelsome, ancient Irish warmaster, did give to Brodir whom had slain his elder brother. From Njall’s Saga, “Wolf the Quarrelsome cut open Brodir’s belly, and led him round and round the trunk of a tree, and so wound up all his entrails out of him, and he did not die before they were all drawn out of him.” Fascinating reading, Njall’s Saga. I do recommend it to you, Sire.

I have learned that the Capulet rats still wish to cross steel with us. One of their number, “LOL Patrol” was discovered inciting a mob today…though they worked with us this day, I saw their thieving, conniving looks at the wealthy Montague ladies and officers. They have a sell-sword, Marco, and he does not work for the Count – and I do wonder if this was the beast that murdered poor, helpless Stephanie the previous night. Should we find this…mercenary…we shall give his whereabouts to the Count’s man, Leo, and see what comes of it.

There is one more encounter that I must speak of because I do not know what to make of it.

As the cock-crowed the first rays of the sun kissing this troubled earth, faithful Luke brought a man in brown, tattered garb before me. This stranger pulled back his hood and I recognised him at once – it was Alfredo, the quiet Monk, whom had never spoken a word in all the years I had known him. This quiet, harmless creature had given a vow of silence and poverty, his bare feet torn and hardened from uneven cobblestones, his tired eyes weary from an eternity of reading the good book. As I stood, to my astonishment – he spoke. His voice was quiet and soft, like the evening breeze through the willows that line the east aisle of your courtyard, and his words carried the weight of an eternity of wisdom.

“Evil triumphs when good men do nothing,” he said in his old, wavering voice. He lifted his tired, work-weary arms and pointed at me. “You are charged by God to finish the commission that has been set before you.” Whereupon he took out a small, tattered scroll, and placed it before me. I recognised it at once – it was the list of traitors who had conspired against the Prince. Alfredo placed his finger on the name ‘Sapphire’. “I drew here,” Alfredo announced, and I recoiled in horror as he continued, “For they came for me with sword and fire. They torched the Bible in front of me and held my brothers lives to ransom.” I am poorly schooled in the knowledge of God, so my response was perhaps poor. I asked him how he could sign away the life of the Prince for his own brothers, when good men – my men – fought and died on these broken, hopeless streets against the evil that had condemned our guardian. I had a terrible anger, my lord, and I would have put him to the sword then and there except – I cannot harm a man of the cloth. Poor, misguided, broken Alfredo – he is God’s man. I should sooner fall on my own blade than choose to slay him.

Alfredo replied to me. It was not fear of his own life that made him draw, but fear for the souls of the town. He said that many years of silence had given him great wisdom and introspection. He knew that the Prince could not be saved by force of arms, no matter my families courage or will. He said – forgive this blasphemy, I am only passing on his treasonous words – that Prince Escalus’ death was ‘fated’. That our town, fair Verona, was meant to be plunged in to turmoil so that God could watch our mettle and faith in the greatest test of all. I asked of him, if it be fate, then why sign your name, friar? He said that all men have sins, and it is the nature of man to sin and be forgiven, then sin again, in an endless cycle until their death. Prince Escalus was a paragon above all men, and had gone to confession only an hour before hand. The Friar told me that at that moment, Escalus was pure and clean. Alfredo…cared not for our day to day affairs. “Our Prince,” he told me, “Is now giving advice to Christ, preparing His armaments, and doing battle with a far greater enemy than you or I can ever face. Our time with this great man must end so that he can be where he is needed.” Alfredo made the sign of the cross, bowed, and moved to leave. Then he turned to me once more and said, “Your place is still here. Finish what you have begun. Do everything within your power to be the best that you can be. God is watching. Your Prince is watching. Everyone is watching. Do not fail Verona in her hour of need. You are not so far removed from sin that your death will be salvation, for I have heard a great deal about your actions, Lord Montague, and yet never seen you at confession.”

With that commentary, he left.

It is not my place to pass judgement on one of God’s men, your Majesty. I understand that is your right. For this reason I will spare Friar Alfredo from the same justice that is being dispensed to the remaining traitors, so that he may face your court.

Even so; that mysterious stranger was right about one thing.

I yet have more work to do in this dark night. More assassins will surely come for my family, the Count, and myself. We shall be sure to be not found wanting.

In His most Glorious name,

Lord Montague

Latest play

Well it's night 6 at the moment.

Through some creative use of detective checking, here's the current standings:

3. Gasp! Its Jake - Montague Townie
4. Sapphire - Watch "Friar"
5. Black Kitty - Count
7. Sarck - Paranoid
12. major_pain - Capulet (veteran?)
15. Sky_Paladin - Montague Lord
16. Jeffu - Montague Sleeper
18. zero_kanipan - Definite Citizen
22. 1337guard - Citizen or Capulet
23. DNA.Styx - Drunkard
25. SpadaDellaSelva - Montague Sleeper
26. Eyolo - Montague Detective
27. Madogu Abuser - Montague Paramedic
29. NeoNostalgia - Capulet Bodyguard
34. Midnyt - Capulet Detective
35. BBC - Montague Veteran
36. DJROC - Citizen or Capulet
39. umhyuk - Citizen
40. Kegluneq - Citizen or Capulet
43. Suike - Montague Vigilante
44. Shazback - Citizen or Capulet
45. Sagi - Capulet
46. LOL Patrol - Capulet Instigator
49. Jun - Montague or Capulet Townie

In the lynch vote for Uber today I spotted that the numbers didn't add up during the tally, because of the updates and the roles we already knew, we worked out that LOL Patrol is the Capulet instigator.

We've learned through the narratives that Capulet is not honoring their side of the Destroy All Citizens bargain when they had Marco (their sleeper) kill Theobold (our sleeper). Because of this the deal is off, but we have neglected to inform Capulet of that.

We know that Umhyuk and Zero_Kanipan are citizens. If one of them isn't, the only contender remaining is Sarck. Everybody else who has voted has been checked and worked out to be not a Citizen.

The following players never voted and thus we know the third Citizen is one of these:
1337Guard, Kegleneq, DJROC and Shazback.

Our agreement with Midnyt was that they would hit Umhyuk, while we would hit Zero_Kanipan. Instead, what we expect to happen is for them to hit one of our guys (hopefully Sarck) while the Citizens will nibble on the houses some more. With only two kill power the casualties will not be catastrophic.

We have our medic on Spada, our active sleeper, who in turn is targetting LOL Patrol tonight. We want to knock out the Instigator so we can still call the lynch votes tomorrow. If we ever lose it, it will be nearly impossible to recover.

It would be awesome if Midnyt has his sleeper hit Umhyuk but I don't expect it will happen.

Tomorrow we will lynch Zero_Kanipan as Umhyuk said he would vote with us, I'll get him to vote for Zero. Then Black Kitty can autolynch Umhyuk.

If we're lucky, Mercutio and the Infiltrator are those two. That will leave just the Saboteur, who has no kill power, and thus eliminating the Citizens from the game.

During the night phase, we'll have our sleeper hit known Capulet targets, trying to hit the enemy sleeper or the paramedic. We'll keep our own medic on Spada since he now represents our control of night phase. During the day if mafia still has kill power left, we will lynch players on that list of four (Starting with Kegleneq). If they don't, we'll lynch known Capulets (Midnyt, Major_Pain, Sagi) first.

Jeffu is afk for a few more days, and BBC is gone until the 10th. The game will be over by then. This means Jeffu and BBC are both good bait to offer up, so to speak. They can't vote so I would rather they die than an active player; further BBC is the veteran and can soak up two hits. With any luck they will think he is a medic protected vigilante and waste time on him.

I also had somebody nibble on me the previous evening, since Capulet hit Theobald it's safe to say the mafia did it. They also nailed poor Squidworth.

Basically this night phase and the following day phase will decide the game.

My wish:
Enemy sleeper hits Sarck and dies.
Citizens hit Capulet medic and Jeffu.

Day phase:
Zero_Kanipan and Umhyuk are lynched and are Mercutio and the Infiltrator.

Then we all have cake and the game is done in time for everyone to go afk for the 4th of July~~
